Watch the teaser for director Edgar Wright’s new film –

Are you ready to see what will happen when you take a wild journey through time courtesy of director Edgar Wright? The first teaser for the long-awaited Last night in Soho is here and, oh boy, we have some serious questions about what’s going on. Seriously, we have all the questions. All of them, but are they answered? No, well, not until the movie comes out.

What have we learned about? Last night in Soho from the trailer? Aside from the fact that Petula Clark’s “Downtown” can actually be terrifying when given the right context? It definitely looks like Edgar Wright is bringing some big scares into the movie. Here’s everything you need to know about Last night in Soho.

What have we learned from the Last night in Soho trailer

Thomasin McKenzie is Eloise, a young fashion student who moves to London. Unfortunately, she finds herself lonely and out of place among the hustle and bustle of the big city. Or maybe she’s one of those girls who felt like she was born at the wrong time. You all know the type. They usually like the aesthetics of an era without really thinking about its social implications.

Anyway, Eloise can apparently mentally time travel to 1960s London, where she takes over the body of a young singer named Sandy (Anya Taylor-Joy). As the trailer progresses, the lines between past and present begin to blur. More chillingly, it seems that the two young women could also become one singular person. Which, frankly, can’t be good for anyone’s sanity.

Is there something about ghosts too? Why not. Certainly.

Who else can we expect in Last night in Soho?

In addition to McKenzie & Taylor-Joy, the cast of Last night in Soho also includes Matt Smith, Terence Stamp, the late and wonderful Diana Rigg, the equally late and wonderful Margaret Nolan, Rita Tushingham, Michael Ajao and Synnøve Karlsen. Wright co-wrote the script with Krysty Wilson-Cairns (1917). It certainly looks like it’s going to be a great movie with a lot of talent in it.

Filming for Last night in Soho took place in 2019 with a release date for 2020. However, due to COVID-19, the release has been postponed to April 2021. Of course, that didn’t happen. Currently in some places we see an October 2021 release date for the film, but others say there is no release date fordatum Last night in Soho currently. So who really knows when the movie will be released? We do not.

Anyway, the 60s vibes and the horror vibes are absolutely great for getting us out of that COVID rut. It looks like a bad acid trip if we’re honest. Or, well, a bad acid trip, if stylishly directed by Edgar Wright, of course. We are of course still excited. We need something weird and new to cling to as we crawl out of our quarantine holes after a year of COVID.

Something else?

This is about all we know we Last night in Soho. Based on the trailer? We are certainly looking forward to it. Edgar Wright is always a director who delivers big, big rewards to the audience in the best possible way. It’s going to be fun to see where the movie goes from the trailer. There are rumors that there may be more content from Last night in Soho later in the week. So we’ll keep an eye out.
